Leisure Complex Optimising and Making the Existing Complex More Attractive The Stadt Oer-Erkenschwick currently owns an indoor pool complex in the town centre and an outdoor pool complex at the Stimbergpark. The indoor pool complex is to be closed as soon as the planned sports and leisure complex is taken into operation. In contrast, the outdoor pool complex enjoys a high degree of acceptance among the population. Sports and Leisure Complex For the concept of the building, we use the topography. The new building is located at the highest point of the property and is integrated into the terrain and orientated to the west, i.e. with a panoramic view across the staggered water areas of the existing outdoor pool complex towards the beautiful landscape of the Haard. Inside the complex different swimming areas are also staggered, from loud to quiet, from active joyfulness in the adventure area to calm relaxation, from the bottom to the top. The relaxation area with its salt-water pool is also to be accentuated and can be allocated to both the adventure area as well as the sauna area. The changing areas are divided according to function and can be allocated to the different areas according to respective operational requirement. Making the Outdoor Complex More Attractive The seasonal entrance to the outdoor complex shall be redesigned as the all-year entrance for the sports and leisure complex. From here, emergency service vehicles can also access the forecourt and the service yard. The sunbathing lawns between the outside pool and the new building shall be renewed following completion. In the area of the adventure and salt-water pools, wooden lounge jetties and terraced sunbathing lawns shall be laid out. The outdoor pool complex shall be connected to the sports and leisure complex as a commercial and technical group. Sauna Garden The outdoor area of the sauna shall be divided into different levels, which are terraced by walls. Within the outdoor area there is a diverse range of pools, each of which is integrated into the terraces. The guest is guided through the sauna garden along a wooden jetty. To the east, in a bank of earth, there are different themed saunas that are partially dug in. The bank of earth serves as a privacy screen to the hotel. Additional privacy sails shall be arranged on the bank according to requirement. At the foot of the bank of earth the sauna houses are surrounded by a moat. Lounge decks on the different levels allow an unrestricted view into the valley. Gastronomy The functional areas of the foyer, leisure complex and sauna are connected gastronomically. The required operating rooms are located centrally. External, internal and sauna gastronomy are offered with additional roof terrace. |
